WPCNR VOICE OF WHITE PLAINS. August 10, 2003: The White Plains Planning Board and the White Plains Design Review Board have announced in the Draft Environmental Impact Statement on the Cappelli-Bland Hotel 221 Main Street project that the two boards feel the 221 Main Street project would be executed more beautifully if the Bar Building were to be demolished, allowing for a more aesthetically pleasing "new Main Street" acrosss from the city Center.
The Bar Building was the county's tallest building when constructed in the 1920's according to Renota Hoffman, the noted White Plains historian.
How do you feel about the building? Tell the city and Louis Cappelli how you feel by voting Yes or No in the attached poll.
