WPCNR WHITE PLAINS VOICE. September 12, 2004: Friday afternoon was Mario Scarano's last day as Athletic Director at White Plains High School, due to a drawnout discussion on the part of the Board of Education in deciding to split the Athletic Director and Health Coordinator position into two separate jobs. Why they have decided not to bring Mr. Scarano back has not been disclosed by the Board of Education despite repeated questions by parents and supporters. No statement has been issued.

The school district is now reviewing candidates for the two positions. Monday evening, supporters of Mr. Scarano will attend the Board of Education Meeting in an attempt to change the Board of Education position regarding Mr. Scarano.
Mr. Scarano has been Athletic Director at White Plains High School for six years, instituting quarterly awards dinners, bolstoring athletes' dedication to scholarship, and during that period White Plains teams have attained an 87% winning percentage and have been named Scholar Athlete Teams at an impressive rate.
Are Mr. and Mrs. White Plains dissatisfied with that performance? Should Scarano be reinstalled in his position in some way? Tell how you feel by voting in the Poll at the right.
