WPCNR MR. & MRS. & MS. WHITE PLAINS VOICE. September 12, 2006: A reader notes that Dennis Power, White Plains interim Common Councilman, made an appearance at the County Board of Legislators Monday evening in support of his employer, County Executive Andy Spano's HANAC affordable senior citizen project on the Grand Avenue, Quarropas and Court Street parking lot:
Editor,
I watched last night in disbelief as the Westchester County Board of Legislators gave away White Plains to some unknown developer. What added insult to injury was Dennis Power, the Spano puppet lobbying for the development as a council member from White Plains. This is a conflict if I ever saw one.
Citizens of White Plains should be outraged and I agree with the call for his immediate resignation. His campaign against Joe Delfino was pathetic and his shenanigans now border on the brink of tom-foolery.
What's going on here? This is corruption of a political kind and I believe that the whole senior development deal, Power's appointment and his stunt last night merits investigation.
Sincerely,
Jeremy Roth, Sr.
